What kind of computer is best for the Internet?

Almost any computer is capable of connecting to the Internet, as long as it's equipped with a modem and the the right software. Mac and Windows computers both work well for Internet access. Computers with faster processors tend to display Web pages more quickly than slower computers, and a color monitor is very helpful for viewing Web page graphics.

What other hardware do I need?

Aside from a computer with a modem installed, you don't need anything more (aside from a phone line to plug the modem into) to connect to the Net.
